"Eastgate, NV" Watercolor
Patti was born in Tucson, Arizona. She grew up in central Arizona, in the Crown King/Prescott area, then attended Northern Arizona University and received a B.S. degree in Geography with Art and Earth Science Minors.
From 1981 to 1987, working as a cartographer/scientific illustrator for NASA & the U.S. Geological Survey, she drew airbrush shaded relief maps of Mars, Venus, the moons of Jupiter and a series of maps depicting the rapids of the Grand Canyon at various water levels.
In 1987, she & her husband, Dave, moved to Nevada where he was employed as a geologist for Glamis Gold & Kennecott. She worked for the same companies as a draftsperson/cartographer, in addition to having several commissions designing logos and card designs.
In 2001, she moved to Gillette, Wyoming where Dave was employed as a geotechnical engineer for Rio Tinto. She enjoyed depicting Wyoming subjects in her art and in addition painted a lifesize fiberglass horse, "Wildfire", to benefit Easter Seal in an auction and which is now located at the Gillette Fire Department.
Patti enjoys working in many different kinds of mediums, but recently has come to focus on Acrylics and Acrylic Ink on Claybord utilizing a technique similar to scratchboard.
Over the years, she has participated in many art exhibitions and has received several awards. In 2008, she & her husband have returned to the Silver State where they are happy to call the Spring Creek/Elko area their home.
